Planning

At Totternhoe we use the PSHE Association medium term planning. Children have PSHCE lessons from Year 1 to Year 6. Other key PSHE concepts and values are taught in the EYFS through their EYFS curriculum which can be found here

"Effective PSHE Education should equip children and young people with the knowledge, understanding and attitudes and practical skills to live healthy, safe, productive and fulfilled lives." - Sir Alasdair McDonald

Relationships and Sex Education  (RSE)

As of  September 2020 , The Department of Education have made some changes with regard to the implementation of compulsory Relationships and Sex Education in Primary schools. The  curriculum document can be found here.

Here at Totternhoe CE Academy we want our pupils to feel prepared and equipped for their journey in life through secondary school  particularly and then into the wider community. We have made plans and preparations for the implementations  of this new curriculum and adapted it to meet the needs of our pupils. The new RSE policy can be found on the policies page of the website
