History
Welcome to our History Curriculum page!
At Totternhoe CE Academy, we aim to inspire in pupils a curiosity and fascination about history that will remain with them for the rest of their lives. A high-quality history education will help pupils gain a coherent knowledge and understanding of Britain’s past and that of the wider world, preparing them for their next stage of education.
We believe that History is such a valuable aspect of the curriculum for our young historians to engage in. It teaches children key skills to analyse, explore and construct their own opinions and ideas upon significant events in their own personal timelines and then as they move through the school, use these skills and apply them to different historical time periods and events. We feel that our curriculum is diverse and provides children with the opportunities to build upon their knowledge and skills when they reach secondary school.

In the Spring term, Years 1 - 6 will have Geography-themed lessons, and Year 1 will have Geography-themed lessons in the Summer term.
