Expressive Art and Design (Art): Painting and mixed media: Paint my world
Exploring paint and painting techniques through nature, music and collaborative work. Developing creativity through child-led exploration of mixed-media, making collages and transient art.
Expressive Art and Design (D&T): Structures: Junk modelling
In this unit, pupils explore and learn about various types of permanent and temporary join. They are encouraged to tinker using a combination of materials and joining techniques in the junk modelling area.
Expressive Art and Design (D&T): Textiles Bookmarks
Pupils develop and practise threading and weaving techniques using various materials and objects. They look at the history of the bookmark from Victorian times versus modern-day styles. The pupils apply their knowledge and skills to design and sew their own bookmarks.
Expressive Art and Design:Music: Music and movement
Children come up with simple actions to well-known songs, learn how to move to a beat and express feelings and emotions through movement to music.
Expressive Art and Design:Music: Musical Stories
A unit based on traditional childrens' tales and songs. Moving to music with instruction, changing movements to match the tempo, pitch or dynamic of the piece; understanding that music and instruments can be used to convey moods or represent characters; playing an instrument as part of a group story.
PSED: Managing self: Taking on challenges
In this unit, children will understand why we have rules, the importance of persistence and perseverance in the face of challenges, learn how to communicate effectively with others, practice 'grounding' coping strategies, and to learn new skills that will help them show resilience and perseverance in the face of challenge.
PSED: Building relationships: Building relationships: Special relationships
In this unit, children are learning to explore why families and special people are valuable, understand why it is important to share and develop strategies, see themselves as valuable individual and explore diversity through thinking about similarities and differences.
PSED: Managing self: My wellbeing
Learning how to look after their wellbeing through exercise, meditation, a balanced diet and care for themselves.

Tinkering and exploring and learning to operate a camera

Children learn about directions, experiment with programming a Bee-bot/Blue-bot and tinker with hardware

Encouraging curiosity, the children explore the natural world through hands-on investigation, discovering how processes and changes occur around us.
Understanding the World (Science): Changing Seasons
A unit to be taught across the year: observing how the natural world transforms through the year and recognising how these changes affect the weather, plants and animals.
Understanding the World (Science): Animal adventures
Exploring animals big and small on the school grounds and further afield, identifying similarities and differences and sorting animals into groups.
Understanding the World (Geography): Outdoor adventures
Using the senses to explore and describe the natural world around them whilst outside; understanding the effect of the changing seasons.
Our Stories
Stories grows children's spoken vocabulary by drawing on the best of children's literature. It is designed to extend and deepen children’s vocabulary so that they can understand the books they will soon be able to read for themselves.
Each week we will be reading a different story
Our Autumn Term books:
PE is on Wednesday. Please ensure your child wears their named, correct PE kit to school on this day, that earrings are not worn or taped and long hair is tied up.
The children have access to their water bottles in the classroom at all times during the day. Please ensure that your child has a named water bottle in school which is taken home regularly to be washed.
Your child is welcome to bring in a snack of fruit or vegetables each day.
