With God’s love, we seek adventure with our minds and find a home for our hearts
During the first part of the Autumn term, each KS1 and KS2 class will take part in the democratic process to elect our new School Council! Secret ballots have been held, and the results are in!
Pupil Voice: This is an important part of our role. We are often asked for our opinions about areas of school life, from our learning in different areas, to our views about the school grounds and environment. If we have any ideas for ways to improve our school, then we can discuss those.
Fundraising: We also like to help and to serve others and together we discuss which charities we should help each year. We firmly believe in encouraging our school community to show our Christian values of compassion, generosity, service and love.
Fundraising for good causes is not so easy post-COVID, but it is important to think of ways of helping others who are in need, even more so now than before.
Fundraising 2021/22
The school council and PLT have chosen to support:
Macmillian
A pupil in our school community for a bionic arm
Wheel Power
Chums
We have got off to a good start, despite the limitations on what we can do!
We DID take part in the Macmillan Coffee Morning on Friday 25th September but.... in a slightly different way!
Children were invited to come dressed in green! Parents were invited to follow the link to make a donation:
https://donation.macmillan.org.uk/wbcm/one-off
All classes had a small class tea party and shared in some cake provided by the school!
We all had a great day, and raised some funds for this very important cause, close to many people's hearts!
Thank you for all your support.
What we have done in the past:
We have helped to choose the new trim trail equipment, making sure that all the children in school had opportunity to have their say and vote for their favourite items. We were not able to have everything that we would have liked, but we are really pleased with all the fantastic improvements that have been made.
School Council have discussed and helped to choose the wording of our school vision so that all the children can understand what Totternhoe CE Academy stands for.
Shortly, we shall be thinking about which Bible story will really help to explain our vision statement.
Recycling: We are responsible for the school recycling scheme and help to make sure that the orange bags are emptied every week into our large recycling bin .
We like to encourage others to help the environment by recycling as much as possible. We will carry on our recycling at school.
