AllotmentThe children in Year R and 4+ follow the Statutory Framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage. This comprises 7 areas of learning: Communication and language; Physical development; Personal, social and emotional development; Literacy ; Mathematics; Understanding the world; and Expressive arts and design.

The children in Years 1 to 4 follow the National Curriculum which comprises English; Mathematics; Science; Design and Technology; Information and Communication Technology (ICT); History; Geography; Art and Design; Music; and PE. We follow the Local Authority's syllabus for RE for all pupils.
These subjects may be covered in linked topics or as individual subjects.
We use 'Letters and Sounds' and 'Jolly Phonics' to teach phonics to the children in Years R, 1 and 2.
Our main reading scheme throughout the school is Ginn which is supplemented by a variety of books from other schemes such as Oxford Reading Tree, Storyworlds and Flying Boot.

- A balance of teaching methods suited to the various learning experiences is used. There are opportunities for whole class, group and individual teaching.
